Winning Athletics

Union students are on the move. With 21 intercollegiate varsity teams and several intramural activities on campus, you won’t find many students sitting around for long. Union’s state-of-the-art facilities—including an aquatic center that houses an Olympic-sized competition pool—are among the best in the state and beyond. Union athletes have amassed an impressive list of successes in the past decade. National titles in cycling, swimming and track & field have made recent headlines, while women’s soccer and women’s basketball consistently rise to the national competition level. The football Bulldogs recently made their first-ever appearance in a championship series, and the baseball team advanced to the World Series, placing fifth in the nation. Union Bulldogs compete in the Appalachian Athletic Conference, the Mid-South Conference, and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Along with many individual awards and Academic All-Americans, Union's championship numbers are impressive. Check out this list of our sports and the number of championships each has won.
